Award Nomination Information

Make sure you submit your nomination forms this week! The deadline for all of the Salute to Design & Construction Awards is THIS Friday, September 11th.

The following awards will be recognized at the event (click links for nomination forms):

• Salute Lifetime Achievement Award
• Salute Photo Contest
• SCA Design Team of the Year
• SCA Developer of the Year
• AIA Craftsman of the Year
• AIA Superintendent of the Year
• NAWIC Women of the Year
• Local Scholarship Recipients – Determined by Each Group

The nomination deadline for all of the awards is Friday, September 11, 2020. Please reference each individual award for instructions on how to apply.

Chicken BBQ

The Springfield Contractors Association, in partnership with CSI (Construction Specifications Institute) invite you to the 2020 Annual Chicken BBQ!

Due to COVID-19, the annual Chicken BBQ will be a little different this year. This year’s event will be a drive-through event held at the SCA Office. All net profits will still go towards SCA and CSI scholarships.

Location: SCA Office, 1313 N. Nias Ave., Springfield, MO 65802. Vehicles will enter the parking lot through the entrance on Nias Avenue and exit onto Bergman Street.

Ticket: This year, a $20 ticket will not only include a meal to-go, but also an official 2020 Chicken BBQ t-shirt, and cup. Meal only $15 tickets are available as add-on purchases with any $20 meal ticket purchased.

Raffle: Raffle tickets will still be available for a variety of items. This year, you do NOT have to be present to win. Raffle tickets are one for $5 or five for $20. You are still able to select which item you would like to put your raffle ticket(s) towards.

Bowl for Kids’ Sake – Construction Industry Challenge

The deadline to register a team is September 29th!

Who will come out on top? Architects? Contractors? Engineers? Traveling trophies awarded to the highest fundraising team and the highest scoring team for winners to display for a year!

Andy B’s and BBBS of the Ozarks are taking all protocols in helping keep you safe and healthy. Teams will bowl every other lane to ensure social distancing. Masks are required and temperature checks will be done as each participant checks in. Every bowler’s area, lanes, shoes and balls are cleaned and sanitized before the next group is placed. Food and drinks are served directly to your lane and disposable paperware is used.

Bowl for Kids’ Sake is an annual fundraiser benefiting children facing adversity in our community through the programs at Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks. Teams of five raise a minimum of $325 per team and enjoy two games of bowling, pizza, soft drinks and a free Bowl for Kids’ Sake t-shirt at your special session! Volunteering has never been so fun!

Are you able to spare 2 hours to eat, drink, and bowl with your co-workers, all while supporting local children? If so, then Bowl for Kids’ Sake is for you! Come celebrate disco-style with 2 bowling games, pizza, soda, fun trivia questions for unique prizes, raffle for groovy prizes, music and more! Proceeds benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks.
