COVID-19 Update

SCA staff and the Board of Directors have been monitoring the progression of COVID-19 related recommendations and requirements. With respect to the goal of social distancing and containing the Coronavirus, the SCA is adopting the following guidelines for office hours, training, room reservations, committee meetings, and events.

Office Hours & Training Room

We are cancelling all training room reservations through the end of April and will re-evaluate if we need to extend the cancellations closer to May as the situation progresses.

Payments can be made by checks or with a credit card by phone. Please remember, membership dues must be paid by the end of the month to be in the printed directory (and avoid being removed from the online directory/losing discounted event prices).

Committee Meetings

At this time, we are cancelling any in person committee meetings for the next 30 days. We will be communicating via email, and we will determine if conference calls are necessary as the situation progresses.
If you are on a liaison committee, please be prepared to continue with discussions and updates that would be normally given at the committee meeting.

Event committees, Marketing & Membership, and Workforce Development will be updated on an individual basis.

The Scholarship Committee will meet via a combination of emails and conference calls.

April/May Events

We are monitoring each event on an individual basis based on the timing of the event and the type of the event. All April events have been cancelled or rescheduled. Please see each event below for updates of events originally scheduled in April.

There are no current changes to the May General Membership Meeting, but again, we will evaluate if it needs to be postponed closer to the event date.

The Spring Golf Tournament has been pushed back one week from May 15th to May 22nd. There are no other changes at this time. Please click here for more information about the event.

Membership Dues

Just a reminder, membership dues were mailed at the end of December to the primary contact listed for the SCA Directory along with a membership packet.

Dues can only be paid by check, in person with a credit card, in person with cash, or by phone with a credit card. Please ignore the spam emails about sending an EFT/ACH or online payment. They are NOT from the SCA.

Membership dues must be paid by the end of March to be included in the 2020 Membership Directories.
If you know you will be behind on paying for your dues because of the current COVID-19 situation, please contact Megan at the office to discuss options.

City of Springfield BDS Permit Update

Permits can now be requested via email at building@springfieldmo.gov

Please include the following information:
• Address and/or project number if a project already exists.
• Type of permit being requested ( i.e. plumbing, gas, mechanical, building, electrical, Fire Suppression)
• Detailed description of work specific to the permit.
• Trade Master’s name and email address (if applicable)
• Contractor Company Name.
• Contact phone number for follow up information and payment.

THIS EMAIL REQUEST***

All requests will be handled on a first-in, first-out basis.
A permitting representative will contact you during the processing of your permit.
Any further information will be obtained at that time, along with payment information.
Credit Cards are the only accepted method of payment.

Building Development Services personnel is still available to assist in person during regular business hours, if needed.

Spring Shoot Out – Rescheduled to May

The Spring Shoot Out has been rescheduled tentatively to May 1st. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation to determine if it will need to be postponed to an even later date.

Build My Future Cancelled

Unfortunately, the 2020 Build My Future event has been cancelled. Please mark your calendars now for the 2021 event on Wednesday, March 31st.

The Bass Bash will have to be rescheduled, but Generation Next is in the process of coordinating the new date. We will be in contact with membership, sponsors, and those who have already registered as soon as more information becomes available on a new date.
