January General Membership Meeting Recap

Thank you to everyone who attended the General Membership Meeting last week!
The Building Development Services Department of the City of Springfield provided a document of significant changes. Click here to download a PDF of Significant Changes with Adoption of 2018 Building Codes and 2017 Electrical Codes.

Commercial code changes will go into effect on February 9, 2020. A full list of Building Codes is available on the City of Springfield’s website under Building & Development Services.

If you would like to join the task force that reviews building/energy codes for the City of Springfield, please let Megan Short or Dave Foreman know.

Online registration is available through the SCA Calendar. The registration deadline is Monday, February 3, at 10 a.m. Ticket prices increase the day of the event. All cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance to receive a refund.

Annual passes are still available for a pro-rated $130 now by contacting Megan at the SCA Office at megan@springfieldcontractors.org or 417-862-1313. Passes are good for one person to attend each General Membership Meeting of 2020 and are transferable.

Generation Next Membership Charity Event

Generation Next invites all of SCA to join for the Membership Charity Event. Generation Next has combined the annual Membership Drive and annual Charity Event into one large event this year.
All net proceeds will go to Habitat for Humanity as the designated charitable organization of the year.

Tickets
Tickets are available online on the SCA Calendar. Tickets are $25 for each adult or $20 for each child (age 12 and below) and will include two slices of pizza, a non-alcohol drink, and open bowling from 6-8 p.m.

Silent Auction
Generation Next is also taking donations for a Silent Auction the night of the event. Please contact Nic Dykman or the SCA Office if you are interested in donating something.

Supply Drive
Habitat for Humanity will be providing Generation Next with a list of supplies needed as in-kind donations closer to the event.

Sponsorships

Generation Next Bass Bash Fishing Tournament

Registration is now open for Generation Next’s 5th annual Bass Bash Fishing Tournament!
Net proceeds from last year funded Generation Next’s general budget as well as the following donations: $2,000 SCA Scholarship Endowment, $500 MSU Construction Club, $1,000 Teen Anglers, and $1,000 Fish 4 Tales.

Membership Dues

Just a reminder, membership dues were mailed at the end of December to the primary contact listed for the SCA Directory along with a membership packet.

Dues can only be paid by check, in person with a credit card, in person with cash, or by phone with a credit card. Please ignore the spam emails about sending an EFT/ACH or online payment. They are NOT from the SCA.

Membership dues must be paid by the end of March to be included in the 2020 Membership Directories.
