• Local Scholarship Recipients – Determined by Each Group

Career Days

About the Salute to Design & Construction
The members of the design and construction industry are gearing up for the Annual Salute to Design and Construction. The first Salute was held in 1985 as one of twelve “Salutes” to various aspects of Springfield’s community (others included Healthcare, Military, Agriculture and Government along seven others) sponsored by the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce. In 1988, the Salute Council took over the planning and implementation of the Salute to Design & Construction and it has continued to evolve over the years.

September General Membership Meeting

Thank you to everyone who attended the September General Membership Meeting!

King Block II was elected from the floor at the meeting for a one-year term on the SCA Board of Directors.

The amendments to the SCA By-Laws were also approved by a vote.

Chicken BBQ

Thank you to everyone who volunteered and attended the event last Thursday! We had a record breaking number of sponsorships at $26,100. Net proceeds are used for scholarships.

Our committee chair, Brady Bond, did a great job pulling everyone together, prepping the food, and making sure the event went off without a hitch.

Our raffle volunters – Crystal Shotts, Abigail Lind, Kara Turner, and SCA Staff were able to raise $1,170 in tickets for the items donated. A special thank you to Garrett Dowling and Jeremy Ray for helping coordinate the raffle items!

Thank you to CSI volunteers for handling the gate, parking, food line, and clean-up. The Chicken BBQ is a partnership between the SCA, CSI, and Springfield Rugby Club.

The MSU Construction Club did a great job with setting up banners, helping SCA volunteers cook the chickens, event breakdown, and running the cornhole tournament under Doug Fronick.

Doug Fronick also did a great job overseeing the cornhole tournament to ensure everyone knew when they were up, and the tournament flew by.

Congratulations to MSU for winning the cornhole tournament!
