BASE Construction
5 Years in Business

BASE Construction will celebrate its sixth anniversary August 2021, having continued to see huge year-to-year growth, with the completion of projects in the first 5 years totaling over $81 million.

In August 2015, Cody Ritter and KC Merry left the larger construction firms they were with and started BASE Construction, taking the opportunity to start something of their own. Since then, the company has grown to a team of 17 seasoned professionals, bringing a vast array of experience in various construction delivery systems in numerous market segments.

BASE Construction provides Commercial General Contractor & Project Management services, overseeing the entirety of the project from start to finish, managing all phases of construction. The BASE team has the knowledge, experience and training to complete a wide variety of commercial projects, including commercial turnkey projects, new construction, interior fit-outs, site improvements and renovations. They also provide conceptual estimating, cost modeling, scheduling, phasing and logistics planning, value engineering, subcontractor pre-qualification & solicitation, guaranteed maximum pricing and constructability review.

BASE Construction ranked 10th for Area’s Largest Commercial Contractors in 2020 and received the 3rd Place Award in SBJ 2019 Dynamic Dozen.

Are you hiring?

The SCA is hosting a hiring event in partnership with the Missouri Job Center. We will be moving forward, so please let Megan know if you would like to be involved. There are currently only 2 more company spots available.

The event is scheduled for April 28th from 1-5 p.m. at the Missouri Job Center, 2900 E. Sunshine. We will plan to use their parking lot for an outdoor event but will also have indoor space reserved in case of inclement weather.

Why is the event from 1-5 p.m.?
Because there has been a struggle getting in front of high school students this year with limited or no career day options and Build My Future being cancelled, we are reaching out to area schools to invite seniors who are graduating. We need the event to extend into after school hours to allow them time to attend.

The event will also be promoted to the public for all levels of positions.

Generation Next Membership Competition

In an effort to boost involvement and help owners and managers get their younger employees involved in the Generation Next group, Gen Next is going to pay the 2022 SCA membership fee for the company that gets the most new members to attend Gen Next monthly meetings in 2021.

Generation Next meets on the 2nd Wednesday of every month either in the evening or over lunch. Anyone that is a member of the SCA and is under 40 years old can be a member of Generation Next for no additional cost. New members will be counted at each monthly meeting, and a yearend total will determine which SCA Member Company had the most new members for the year attend.
