Member Spotlight

The Builders’ Association
134 Years in Business
The Builders’ Association is a nonprofit commercial construction trade association serving hundreds of member companies that employ over 25,000 people in mid-America. Founded in 1887, The Builders’ Association has advanced the construction industry by delivering the following services:

Safety | Safety first, safety always. Our industry’s priority it to make sure every worker on the job returns home safely, every time. Builders’ provides training, resources and compliance support to help your team meet the highest safety standards.

Plan services | The origins of our association were in providing a one-stop shop for helping contractors find projects to bid, and to this day, that service remains one of our most popular.

Business development and networking | At its core, construction is still a relationships industry. Builders’ helps connect you with all the major players in the region, and by becoming a member, your business will be eligible to participate in numerous marketing and advertising services available only to members.

Education and professional development | Whether you are looking for new talent to join your workforce or training to ensure your current workforce is at the top of their game, we can help.

Labor relations | We help resolve labor or employee relations problems as quickly and cost-effectively as possible. An early and successful resolution of labor disputes can result in substantial savings for contractors, and avoid potential lawsuits, fines and costs associated with delays in construction.

Government relations | The Builders’ Association works to make sure those setting policy do so with the interests of commercial construction in mind.

About the Salute to Design & Construction

The members of the design and construction industry are gearing up for the Annual Salute to Design and Construction. The first Salute was held in 1985 as one of twelve “Salutes” to various aspects of Springfield’s community (others included Healthcare, Military, Agriculture and Government along seven others) sponsored by the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce. In 1988, the Salute Council took over the planning and implementation of the Salute to Design & Construction and it has continued to evolve over the years.

Career Days

Teams of speakers visit area schools to talk about careers in construction year-round. If you can spend time discussing your career with eager young people, contact Megan at 862-1313 or megan@springfieldcontractors.org.

Spam Email Alert
We recognize listing email addresses in our online directory allows bots to scan the website and develop distribution lists for spam and sometimes phishing attempts. Some businesses have filters preventing the spam emails to come through and prefer receiving business leads via email. Rather than making a decision on behalf of all of our members to keep email addresses listed or remove them altogether, we would like to give each member the choice to leave your email address or remove it.

Opting to remove your email address from the online directory (available here) will not remove your email from our printed directory or emailing distribution list. Unfortunately, removing email addresses will not help for lists that have already been taken from the website.

2021 Directories
The 2021 Printed SCA Member Directories are available now. Stop by the office during business hours to pick up a copy. Directories are now available to the public.

Generation Next Membership Competition

In an effort to boost involvement and help owners and managers get their younger employees involved in the Generation Next group, Gen Next is going to pay the 2022 SCA membership fee for the company that gets the most new members to attend Gen Next monthly meetings in 2021.

Generation Next meets on the 2nd Wednesday of every month either in the evening or over lunch. Anyone that is a member of the SCA and is under 40 years old can be a member of Generation Next for no additional cost. New members will be counted at each monthly meeting, and a yearend total will determine which SCA Member Company had the most new members for the year attend.

If you have employees that are under the age of 40 and want to get involved in Generation Next or you want to know more about the group, please contact Tim Potthoff at tim.potthoff@nabholz.com or Dana Haase at dana.haase@nabholz.com anytime.
