Membership Dues Deadline
Just a reminder, the SCA Membership Dues deadline is THIS Wednesday, March 31st to be included in the directory. Please contact the office if you are unsure if yours are paid.
Spring Shoot Out
Please submit team player names by Friday! We know there may be adjustments, but please send us as much information as possible.
Due to an influx of participation, we opened a morning session. We will now have a morning shoot at 10 a.m. followed by lunch as well as our regular afternoon session at 1 p.m. There will be time for people to network between sessions during a combined lunch with the whole group.
If you were signed up in the afternoon session originally, please confirm you would like to stay in the afternoon or would like to voluntarily move to the morning shift. As of now, we are full in the afternoon until we have teams switch to the new session.
The door prizes will be drawn between the two shifts at 12:30 p.m. You must be present to win, so please plan to be there early/stick around.

Ironworkers Local Union #10
120 Years in Business
Ironworkers Local #10 provides training and resources to its members. Historically members have had to travel to Kansas City to receive training, however, Local #10 now provides training to both Apprentices and Journeymen locally in SW Missouri.
Local #10 Kansas City, Mo, got its charter in 1901. Quality training of workers has always been one of the main strengths of Union Labor.
“I am proud to help carry that tradition into the future,” shared Clarence Devol of the Springfield Training Center.
Clarence attends the SCA General Membership Meetings and participates on the Build My Future Committee.

There is no extra cost for SCA members to join Generation Next. Generation Next is the under 40 group of the Springfield Contractors Association. They have monthly meetings and invite all SCA members to participate in social events and community service opportunities.

Are you hiring?
The SCA is discussing hosting a hiring event in partnership with the Missouri Job Center. If there aren’t enough contractors interested, we won’t move forward, so please let Megan know if you would like to be involved.
The event is tentatively scheduled for April 28th from 1-5 p.m. at the Missouri Job Center, 2900 E. Sunshine. We will plan to use their parking lot for an outdoor event but will also have indoor space reserved in case of inclement weather.
Why is the event from 1-5 p.m.?
Because there has been a struggle getting in front of high school students this year with limited or no career day options and Build My Future being cancelled, we are reaching out to area schools to invite seniors who are graduating. We need the event to extend into after school hours to allow them time to attend.
The event will also be promoted to the public for all levels of positions.

Jobs can be posted through the SCA and Missouri Job Center regardless of if you can attend. Email Megan or Dacee if you would like your position posted on the SCA job board here or if you would like to be connected with someone from the Missouri Job Center to post on jobs.mo.gov.

COVID-19 Vaccine Update
The Missouri Department of Health and Human Services has added Construction to Phase 2 of the vaccine rollout. As of now, Phase 2 is expected to activate on March 29th.

Generation Next Membership Competition
In an effort to boost involvement and help owners and managers get their younger employees involved in the Generation Next group, Gen Next is going to pay the 2022 SCA membership fee for the company that gets the most new members to attend Gen Next monthly meetings in 2021.
Generation Next meets on the 2nd Wednesday of every month either in the evening or over lunch. Anyone that is a member of the SCA and is under 40 years old can be a member of Generation Next for no additional cost. New members will be counted at each monthly meeting, and a yearend total will determine which SCA Member Company had the most new members for the year attend.
