Annual Chicken BBQ

Join us for the annual Chicken BBQ! The SCA partners with the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) for a fun, entertaining evening to raise money for scholarships. Don’t forget some extra cash for the annual Cornhole Tournament, raffle, and to purchase remaining chicken halves. Tickets are available online here.

We are looking for volunteers! If you’re interested in volunteering, please email info@springfieldcontractors.org. CSI mostly handles the check-in area, but SCA is looking for volunteers to help with handing out food, cleanup, etc. Volunteering is a great way to get to know others at the event!

Wiese USA
75 Years in Business

Wiese USA was started in 1944 by Harold Wiese in St Louis and now operates more than thirty locations. It is still a family-owned business headed by Harold’s son Chip. The Wiese mission is to “Honor God, Value people and Feel like family.”

Their fundamental belief in treating others as they would wish themselves to be treated is a founding principle for Wiese. Today, this strong culture of servant leadership is shared and professed by Harold’s son, Chip, President and CEO of Wiese.

Wiese USA provides loading dock equipment, as well as overhead doors and operators. They specialize in high-speed doors often used in climate control conditions, when maintaining climate control and preventing pest and rodent infiltration is mandatory. They also carry freezer doors, air curtains and traffic doors, storage racking, and many other warehouse products. Wiese is also one of the largest material handling equipment suppliers in the nation.

Wiese is the leading provider of McGuire loading dock equipment. They have the unique ability to provide overhead doors from several manufacturers and, most importantly, provide doors in a week or two instead of months.

Wiese participates in General Membership Meetings and nearly all SCA events.

About the Salute to Design & Construction
The members of the design and construction industry are gearing up for the Annual Salute to Design and Construction. In 1988, the Salute Council took over the planning and implementation of the Salute to Design & Construction and it has continued to evolve over the years.

Generation Next Membership Competition

In an effort to boost involvement and help owners and managers get their younger employees involved in the Generation Next group, Gen Next is going to pay the 2022 SCA membership fee for the company that gets the most new members to attend Gen Next monthly meetings in 2021.

Generation Next meets on the 2nd Wednesday of every month either in the evening or over lunch. Anyone that is a member of the SCA and is under 40 years old can be a member of Generation Next for no additional cost. New members will be counted at each monthly meeting, and a yearend total will determine which SCA Member Company had the most new members for the year attend.

If you have employees that are under the age of 40 and want to get involved in Generation Next or you want to know more about the group, please contact Tim Potthoff at tim.potthoff@nabholz.com or Dana Haase at dana.haase@nabholz.com anytime.
