The courses being offered are CNC Operations, Introduction to Programmable Logic Controls and Welding. Classes run 2 to 10 weeks, have 1 to 2 college credit hours, and are scheduled to allow for minimal disruption to an employee’s work schedule.  Please see below for a brief description of the short-term offerings.

Fundamentals of CNC Operations (PMTS-235A) is a 2-week course designed to teach the fundamental skills needed to safely and efficiently setup and operate a variety of computer-controlled (CNC) machine tools. This course will include aspects of application math, G&M code programming for setup and editing, process documentation best practices, part inspection, and machine adjustments for feature control.  A basic understanding of precision machining practices and a desire to learn CNC machining techniques is beneficial.  Students may apply for a HAAS Foundation Scholarship which would have a $0 cost to the student. Students learn to use basic programming commands to perform typical industrial operations. Using the Allen-Bradley MicroLogix family of PLCs and RSLogix 500 programming software, students will learn the proper sn. Prior industrial electricity knowledge is preferred. This training meets on Friday from 8:00 – 11:25 am, March 22 – May 24.
