Addendum 1

Alternate bid to Parking Lot “O”

I.                    Application

  1. ChipLock.  ChipLock shall be applied from an approved, calibrated, spraying unit at a rate of 0.28-0.32 gallons per square yard.  The material shall be sprayed to ensure sufficient coating of exposed chip seal aggregate.
  2. ChipLock.  ChipLock spray-applied slurry seal, or approved equal, shall be used.  ChipLock is a product available from Donelson Sealant Technologies, Clever, Missouri.

 II.                  Pavement Marking

  1. Do not apply pavement-marking paint until layout and placement have been verified with Project Manager.
  2. Apply pavement-marking paint over existing striping, arrows, symbols, and lettering, unless noted otherwise.
  3. Clean surface to eliminate loose material dust.  Apply paint with mechanical equipment to produce pavement markings with uniform, straight edges.  Apply two (2) coats of Sherwin Williams Setfast Acrylic Waterborne Traffic Marking Paint #TM226, or approved equal, at manufacturer’s recommended rates to provide a minimum wet film thickness of 15 mils per coat.

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR OZARKS TECHNICAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE

REPAIR, SEALING & STRIPING OF PARKING LOTS

 C, D, E, I, K, O Chip n Seal, Brower Street East, Richwood Valley and RVC Trail

Sealed bids will be received by Rob L. Rector, Vice President of Administrative Services, Ozarks Technical Community College, at the Board of Trustees Meeting Room in the Information Commons, 1001 E. Brower St., Springfield, Missouri until 2:00 p.m. C.S.T. on March 21, 2013, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids received after 2:00 p.m. will be returned unopened.

A pre-bid meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m. on March 5, 2013 in the OTC Facilities Office located at 933 East Central, Springfield, Missouri to answer any questions.  (Pre-bid/site visits are mandatory for first time bidders).

Drawings and specifications and related contract information may be obtained at the Maintenance Office in the RPM Building, 933 E. Central, Springfield, Missouri. Drawings will also be available for viewing after February 5, 2013.  Questions should be directed to the Maintenance Department (phone 417-447-4801; fax; 417-447-4804). 

BID SECURITY: Bids are to be submitted on the College’s bid form and must be accompanied by a Bid Guarantee (Bid Bond) equivalent to five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid. Bids shall be submitted according to the Instructions to Bidders included in the bid document.

PREVAILING WAGE: Prevailing wages shall be paid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.

TAX EXEMPT STATUS: This project requires application of tax exempt status on behalf of the Owner. 

PROJECT COMPLETION: This project will be available for repair, sealing and striping on May 20, 2013. All work must be completed by June 30, 2013.

PERFORMANCE BOND: A Performance Bond is required of the successful bidder in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract.
