NAWIC Blood Drive

During the week of March 1-7 NAWIC – National Association of Women in Construction is having a blood drive and we need your help!  If you are a regular donor please donate in the name of NAWIC.  To schedule an appointment, please go to www.redcrossblood.org, select a date, put in zip code 65807 and you will be able to schedule an appointment to donate on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Friday or Saturday of this week at the Springfield American Red Cross donation Center on East Battlefield.  If you are unable to donate, ask someone to donate in your place, all blood types are needed every day.

Help save lives by donating blood.  The lives you can help save may be those of your friends, family or someone across the street or across the nation. Blood and platelet donors are everyday heroes who help save lives.

In 1900 the renamed American National Red Cross received a Congressional charter establishing the organization as the nation’s official relief agency for civilians and military personnel and made it accountable to – though not funded by – Congress.  President Franklin D. Roosevelt was the first to proclaim March Red Cross Month in 1943.  Every president since Roosevelt followed suit by issuing proclamations designating March Red Cross Month.
