Citizens Bank of Rogersville

Citizens Bank of Rogersville has been providing all your banking needs since 1907. That is over 115 years of business in the Rogersville area. Like their jingle says “Where other banks have branches, we have roots). It’s a catchy jingle! Citizens Bank of Rogersville was formed as a corporation on December 15, 1908, with $10,000 in capitol stock. The first Board of Directors consisted of seven shareholders: J.A. Barnard, W.T. Breedlove, G.W. Cozby, W.D. Delzell, T.A. Hornbeak, James T. Morris, and Wiand Tunnell. In August 2013, Citizens Bank of Rogersville was acquired by a new holding company called Wildcat Bancshares Inc. The new ownership group is primarily made up of local individuals committed to the bank and to the community.

One of the accomplishments the bank is most proud of is that it has remained independent and is still serving the needs of the Rogersville community. Decisions are made locally and in a timely manner to take care of the needs of the customers of the bank. A little-known fact is that when the bank was purchased by the new owners it was stipulated in the purchase contract that the before mentioned jingle “Where other banks have branches, we have roots”, stay part of all radio ads and go forward with the new group as well.

Citizens Bank of Rogersville works with several members of the SCA for their banking needs. They know how important a strong construction industry is and the impact contractors have in a community. They are proud to be a part of this community and look forward to continuing with that same integrity for years to come.

Build U – Week Long Summer Program

Calling all potential volunteers!

We are still needing bus volunteers for each day during Build U! A bus volunteer position is a great way to get in front of students for an extended time while we drive between locations. Volunteers are able to connect with students, answer questions, and provide insight from the industry.

Are you involved on the civil side of the industry? We are looking for volunteers and/or hands on activities for the students at the “Civil Construction Rodeo” on Monday, August 14th, in the afternoon!

Event Information:

Build U is a week long summer program for 30 students age 16-19 years old presented by the Springfield Contractors Association. The program focuses specifically on the trades for those who are interested but unsure exactly where they might fit best.

There is no extra cost for SCA members to join Generation Next. Generation Next is the under 40 group of the Springfield Contractors Association. They have monthly meetings and invite all SCA members to participate in social events and community service opportunities.
