Palmerton & Parrish, Inc.
31 Years in Business

Palmerton & Parrish, Inc. (PPI) is a Geotechnical Engineering Consulting Firm that provides subsurface investigation, contract drilling, geophysical surveys, construction materials testing, 3rd party special inspection, and environmental services.

PPI was founded in Springfield by Fred Palmerton and Brad Parrish in 1989 and remains headquartered there today. PPI honored retired founding President Fred Palmerton with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the SCA’s 2019 Salute to Design and Construction Banquet. PPI will celebrate another milestone in early 2021, as current President Brad Parrish retires, and PPI’s Board of Directors continues to manage the business.

PPI has grown to include a staff of over 50 employees working in Springfield, Branson, Joplin, and Tulsa, Oklahoma. PPI’s staff includes 12 engineers and geologists, 20 to 25 full-time construction materials technicians, and five full-time drill crews. PPI maintains full-service geotechnical and construction materials testing laboratories that are certified by AASHTO and the USACE in soils, aggregate, bituminous, and concrete. PPI’s drilling department includes numerous track-mounted and ATV-mounted drill rigs and comprehensive tooling for a wide range of soil and rock drilling projects.

PPI’s Board of Directors includes Brandon Parrish, P.E., Erin Parrish, PhD, Rachel Goeke, P.E., Shane Rader, P.E., Mike Foley, and Don Nowack, P.E., R.G. PPI’s Board is proud to live and work in the greater Springfield community, and serve our Clients both close to and farther away from home. PPI is a long-time supporter of the SCA, including the Salute to Design and Construction Banquet, Annual Pig Roast, Golf Tournaments, and other events.

City’s MOmentum – State of the Workforce Survey

The Missouri Job Center and City of Springfield’s Department of Workforce Development is asking for feedback from area employers.

The MOmentum survey should take 5-7 minutes to complete. Individual industry results are available if enough surveys are completed from the industry to provide a relevant sample size.

Conference Room Chairs for Sale

SCA is updating our small conference including new conference room chairs. If you or your company need a set of used office chairs, the hunter green HON chairs from our small conference room are for sale. These chairs are still in good condition with very little wear.

City of Springfield Commissions and Boards

Do you live in the City of Springfield city limits? If so, please be aware there are opportunities to serve if you can make the time. For example, the City of Springfield’s Planning and Zoning Commission will have multiple openings as terms expire at the end of the year.

It is important for the City to have representation from the industry on committees making decisions and recommendations that impact the industry.
