The City of Springfield has begun posting preliminary plans online for the purpose of soliciting feedback from contractors. The SCA has been encouraging the City to develop a mechanism for feedback when possible. This new process will give contractors the opportunity to provide input on the designs prior to construction.
Plans for two capital improvement projects are currently posted on the City’s website here for a two-week period during which time contractors can review the plans and provide feedback through an online comment card. At the end of the two-week period, City staff will examine the comments from the website and make any changes to the plans that are appropriate. The City will not send out notifications every time plans are posted for review, so contractors are urged to bookmark this page and check back frequently for new plans.
Current plans (deadline to review is October 19th) include:
- Fassnight Creek Stormwater Improvements at the Springfield Art Museum
- Pickwick Avenue and Lombard Street Stormwater Improvements
- Jefferson Avenue Footbridge Rehabilitation
- Republic Road Phase 4 & 5
