About the Salute to Design & Construction
The members of the design and construction industry are gearing up for the Annual Salute to Design and Construction. The first Salute was held in 1985 as one of twelve “Salutes” to various aspects of Springfield’s community (others included Healthcare, Military, Agriculture and Government along seven others) sponsored by the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce. In 1988, the Salute Council took over the planning and implementation of the Salute to Design & Construction and it has continued to evolve over the years.

Federal Construction, Inc.
26 Years in Business
Federal Construction, Inc. may have started as a bank building firm but has evolved over the years into offering Pre-Construction, Construction Management, Design/Build, Project Management and General Contracting Services for the financial, education, municipal, retail, and professional sectors. Additionally, their company holds Licenses in Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Iowa, Kansas, Texas, Illinois, and Wisconsin.
Founded in 1995 – In the mid-nineties Federal Protection, Inc. was supplying the bank equipment for a new financial institution in Springfield that was being built by Randy Phelps. Kim and Randy began talking about how Banks are a special type of building and that there should be a general contractor that made this their primary focus. Their partnership formed Federal Construction, Inc. — the “Bank Protection & Construction Management Specialists”. Federal Construction, Inc. was incorporated in October of 1995 as a design/build general contracting firm but was destined to be DIFFERENT!
Presently, Federal Construction, Inc. has completed over 1,200 projects and their staff has over 300 years of experience combined. Their on-site superintendents average 31 years of experience.
Federal Construction, Inc. is a debt-free company. In addition, their sister companies, Federal Protection, Inc., Federal Technologies, and Federal Document Control have over 300 employees and counting.
Previously Federal Construction, Inc. has received the following awards: 2019 Choose Environmental Excellence Award, Water Quality Division Environmental Services City of Springfield. They have also received the 2016 Field of the year “Federal Protection Field”, New Covenant Academy, MHSBCA Missouri H.S. Baseball Coaches Association.
Currently the Federal Construction, Inc. has participated in, Chicken BBQ, Pig Roast, and the Salute Awards Banquet with SCA.

Generation Next Membership Competition
In an effort to boost involvement and help owners and managers get their younger employees involved in the Generation Next group, Gen Next is going to pay the 2022 SCA membership fee for the company that gets the most new members to attend Gen Next monthly meetings in 2021.
In an effort to boost involvement and help owners and managers get their younger employees involved in the Generation Next group, Gen Next is going to pay the 2022 SCA membership fee for the company that gets the most new members to attend Gen Next monthly meetings in 2021.
Generation Next meets on the 2nd Wednesday of every month either in the evening or over lunch. Anyone that is a member of the SCA and is under 40 years old can be a member of Generation Next for no additional cost. New members will be counted at each monthly meeting, and a yearend total will determine which SCA Member Company had the most new members for the year attend.
